Once upon a time working was just that, work. It seems since the Pandemic and the work from home order, there are a whole host of different definitions to describe the way we now work…Which one best applies to you and your preferred way of working?
Flexible Working.
Flexible working means that within reason, employees can vary their workday start and finish times, as well as location, as to what best fits their home life. The increase in people working from home has seen an increase in Companies adopting this procedure.
Activity-Based Working.
Activity-based working means moving from space to space depending on your tasks and goals rather than being based at a single desk every time you visit the office. Your workspace may have collaborative spaces, singular person pods and meeting rooms as well as your dedicated desk space, meaning you are not just restricted to your desk all day.
Hybrid Working.
Hybrid working is a mix of remote and office working. The term hybrid working gained popularity during the pandemic and it’s not going anywhere. Hybrid working is more about location. According to Forbes, 58% of employees in the UK work from home at least 1 day per week, the rest of the week may be spent working from their company HQ, a co-working space, a coffee shop or regional office hub.
Location-Agnostic Working or (Digital Nomad).
Physical location is not a factor for Location-agnostic workers. The site they work from plays no basis in their ability to get the job done. You could be based in a different country to your company without ever having to visit the Head Quarters or be actively travelling the world…as long as there is WI-FI.
Agile Working.
Agile working is not just about where and when working takes place but how that work is done. Not sticking to the old procedural guidelines. It is working towards achieving a set goal without the boundaries of how you achieve it, finding the best way to fulfil a task with as few procedural barriers as possible, which should in turn make the working day more streamline.
It may be that your Organisation, or if a freelancer, you adopt all of the above ways of working switching it up from day to day or month to month. In each case however there is a co-working space just like One Hub that is right for you and how you choose to work.
